I installed the puck kit last weekend. The rb6 isn't my primary stock class buggy so I'm not as fast as I am with my b4.2 without the puck system. With more driving time and setup I may be. I did get a kit for my b4.2 so I would recommend them. Very high quality kit. The weight savings is good too!

Starting point for gearing an 8.5t? Was thinking 22\76ish?

Yep that's good for small track, go 23/76 for bigger tracks

That's what I run! I bought the avid spur and top shaft kit and I'm still gonna use the 76/22

22/81 for me on a VST2 8.5. I geared it down a little to give the car a little more pop on our tight indoor track.

I use the MIP puck system in my rb6 the weight difference between the kyosho out drives and the MIP outdrives is very noticeable. Just takes some tweeting to make 100% reliable

I ordered me one of these buggies today from amain and should arrive tomorrow. I liked this buggy ever since I got to handle one during The Cactus Classic.

I want to go with a gear diff and I found losipartshouse.com had KYOUMW604 in stock (only 1) so I went ahead and bought it. Is this the correct diff assembly I need though. I seen on Petitrc they have a guide for it but shows all the individual part #'s and not this one.

Yep, that's the one you want. The UMW604 diff kit was released fairly recently. Before you had to buy the individual components, which is why Petit lists them.

Thanks for the reply, can't wait to start assembling it, I will also be waiting on the rear rf suspension mount I found available on ebay. Will have to wait to assemble the car until I get all the orders in because I am going to start doing live broadcasts of races through justin.tv, and the first broadcast will be the entire assembly start to finish in one sitting.

Were any of you at motorama last year, did anyone run MM? Clay tires don't work at my track, so I'm trying to decide if I should bring a car setup for RM as well, just in case..

About half way thru my build my hand was cramped, I knew better as I've built alot of kits over the last 15yrs, but I grabbed my slow speed driver, even the mighty kyosho plastics are not fond of drill drivers, the tight fit and steady speed of the screw going in causes a lot of heat and softens the plastic making it very easy to over do it just a touch and strip the holes. Even running them in 90% then the rest by hand can even get to much heat into the plastic.

Exactly why I don't have electric driver bits. I'd rather take three days to build a kit and not heat up the plastic too much.

I just ordered that gear diff from Absolute hobbies, never was good with ball diffs.
It takes me M-F to build a kit as the weekend usually racing.
