Would like to buy the kit plus any upgrades and a few spares right off the bat.
The only thing I've broken is a rear hub and a rear shock shaft (from a hard hit from another car). As for worn out, the rear outdrives are the first part I had to replace for wear outside of shock o-rings.

Get the clear grooved o-rings btw, the stock ones are beyond horrible.

The stock ones are not horrible. Just make sure you use some good grease when building the shocks.

your going to have a hard time mounting those rims on the car. get the avid longer axles and make it easier.
Great list also why yalba front bulkhead and not Exotek?

I beg to differ, they're the worst o-ring / shock setup I've ever felt—hands down. I went to rebuild my shocks and replace some month old clear grooved ones with the stock ones that originally came with my kit that I never used and the brand new stock ones were WAY more sticky than my old clear ones. I just put my old clear grooved ones back in and bought some new ones.

Grease doesn't last. Those stock o-rings are fertilizer grade poop in my opinion.

Low profile nuts from Fastener Express seem to work pretty well, I haven't tried the JC lo-pro flanged nuts yet. The Yaiba part is actually a lower "front suspension mount block" and, as far as I could see, not offered by Exotek. It's like the Ghea GHEA8008AL... but red!

...are the orange grooved O-rings poop-grade too? They're not leaking yet but I'll change to the clear ones next rebuild if that's the way to go.

Thanks guys!

What's everyone using for servo's in the kit? I'm looking to run it in mid-motor configuration, and make use of my stash of 3x 2S LiPO saddle packs. I've seen from pictures guys are mounting the ESC at the very back behind the battery, and using a low profile servo up front with the receiver tucked in right behind it.

With my current 1/10 buggy I'm using a standard size servo, but it's a 4WD kit. Any of you using a standard size servo and running a Futaba 4PLS have any pictures of electronics placement? Makes it easier to plan out what you want to buy in one go

The clear are the smoothest and more prone to leaks, swelling and faster rebuilds. The orange versions last longer and are less smooth.

The stock ones are simply made so that people don't have to worry about their shocks all the time.

Default gear diff

...for those who have built the gear diff with steel gears.... with the outdrives shimmed so that the cross pins just slide into the holes but do not bind the outdrive (cross pin snug against the large diameter backing shim)... very little if any free play, and the backing shims on all four satellite gears... using the sealing gasket... the diff binds up when the screws are just snug. Leaving out the satellite gear shims is a little better but feels tight & really "notchy"... ditto leaving out one of the large diameter backing shims (which I know you would not want to do, but just to get some idea of how bound up it is). It's acting like it needs two gaskets to get enough clearance to run free. Any suggestions?
The gear diff is just to mess around with as I'll probably always run a ball diff but having never run one in a 2wd buggy I thought it'd be interesting. Assuming I can get it set up right.

I don't remember exactly what shims I left out, but I agree with your findings, the diff smoothed out after running it.
