99 bucks. I have the tool and it does NOT work. Pins are too wide its designed to remove 1/8 size pins. The xray xb4 has 1/8 size pins in 1/10, thats the only car it will work for.

People use chain breakers but I do not have one myself. Anyone know when the MIP shafts are coming?

I recently changed all the pins on my Kyosho cars (FS2 & RB5) using a hammer, a pinion (to let the pin come out as you hammer it) and an old 1.5mm wrench.

Take your time and work with protective glasses, on a hard floor, it's not that hard to do.

Nice what size pins did you put back. I am scared of doing it that way might break a hand (I have sanded off chunks off my fingers with a belt sander once).

Put the exotek rack and bell cranks on. If you use the Kyosho metal servo horn you'll have to grind on one of the bell cranks as well as the horn.

Spektrum S6070 low profile servo, transponder, small Airtronics RX, Tekin RS Pro ESC, Fantom shorty pack, Fantom 17.5 motor. I wired the ESC with TQ 13 gauge wire and kept them as short as possible. The car also has an Avid Triad top shaft and slipper (entire Avid setup 7 grams lighter than stock setup with AE spur). It has diggity designs battery braces with Kyosho aluminum posts and RB5 carbon strap cut smaller. When it was weighed in the photo it had the three Exotek steering parts and the Exotek rear U-brace. I also have 14 grams of weight taped to the servo in that pic.

I originally had an Orion R10 Pro ESC in it but wanted to redo the wiring so I took it out and thought I would weigh it compared to the Tekin. Orion with wire was at 70 grams and the Tekin with wire was 44 grams if I remember correctly so that's 26 grams right there. My multi colored airbrushed body you see in the pic is quite a bit lighter than my all white spray canned special. A one color airbrushed body would prob save quite a bit of weight. The aluminum rear hubs with the bigger bearings weigh almost 20 grams more than the plastic which I have yet to break with some pretty good crashes. Some ideas......I think I could probably get it in the low 1480's or maybe even the 1470's if I really took the time to do it, but I don't have the time so I won't.

Yes I have replaced the pins on my 1/10 & 1/8th shafts. Got the pins from McMaster-Carr online ,50 for around 10 bucks,Very cheap. Just used a punch and hammer to remove and install with alittle CA, Never had one come out.

Dont get me wrong, im Kyosho through & through, but to me some of the top Kyosho guys seem a little quiet.
I have seen a couple of the K drivers get on here but its not as much as we would all like.

Ive seen a few non paid drivers like Zack rogers (been awhile) Jayson Pang, Josh Mitchell on here. Its not that often though.

If you have the part number handy can you post it? I like the xray method of outdrive and pin. They make the pin really soft so the outdrive stays pristine and you can refresh your cars very cheaply. So I will try to find that size pin in a xray part. Mcmaster I believe sells different hardness as well.

ALso I like the pinion idea very much will try it on the busted shafts I got tonight .

So if you could ask a kyosho pro....what kind of questions would you ask? I'm in Portland and usually see kyosho's team manager at the track. I could ask a list of questions and see what he says.

What would be your guy's top 5 questions?

KYO97018-098 is the part number, A-Main carries them.
Dimensions seem to be 2x9.8mm.
