The standard bore velvets are pretty dam good to. I ran an scr with standard bores and when I switched to Bb's, didn't notice any difference. The new schumacher k1 has standard bores???? Here's
A pic of mine with the standards, only saved me 10 grams. My first weigh was with a reedy 60c shorty but the orion 90c is 10 grams heavier which I put infor the weigh after the shock change, totally cancelled it out. Bummer. Done with weight reduction till after I run it. Will report my b4/rb6 comparison after this weekend.

So what shock seals are the best? I know there's several to choose from:

P3 Grooved Low Friction (orange)- KYOORG03XR
P3 Grooved O-Ring (clear)- KYOORG03X
Stock o-rings- KYOW5184-05

shaving 50 grams off for stock racing? not to meant sarcastic here, but a single crash in a corner will throw whatever weight savings you had out the window.

Clear is the smoothest, and they actually last a long time.

Either of the "grooved" x-rings work very well. Instead of having one contact point per o-ring like with a standard seal (in the middle), each o-ring has 2 contact points (top and bottom) so there is a much more consistent response overall and since the contact points themselves are smaller, the shocks stay super smooth and free.

so hold on.. you've been doing all of this weight reduction researching and you havent even run the car???

there is a table top at my local track's layout that (in stock) you can just barely make if you take the right line..

my car is definitely heavier than the b4's and Team Cs with all their goodies and i can make it and see myself making it more than other cars. it may just be that i'm the only one trying to pick up the .3-.5/sec that i gain from it but it can be done.. even if afterwords they came to make sure my car was still in blinky mode..

in short, run the car, be amazed and sell the Associated.

Default Stiffer Springs for Carpet?

Hi, please if I can get your feedback on this. For Carpet/mid motor. Stiffer springs front and rear? Stiffer than the "stock" springs? thanks. Don't want to spend $40+ if not needed.

go to petit rc and look at the RB6 "Carpet" setups, you'll need to go stiffer but you can save some $$$ by shopping at Speedtechrc.com.

good luck
