Scotchrap 51 tape - 20 mils

Bought a 4" X 100ft. roll on eBay for just over $30 shipped. Thats about .33 cents a wrap. Last forever! LOL

I also made a template file of the chassis and had it laser cut out of aluminum for a useable template. That way I can just stick it on the aluminum template and cut it out with an exacto then transfer. Allot easier then using the mounted chassis to cut it out.

Hi guys...

I got the new Triad slipper to try and I noticed that the included spurs are 81 and 84...I run an ORCA 8.5 motor which I prefer overgeared (23/76)...should I order the optional Avid 75 spur or use 81 with a really bigger pinion???

I mean I could probably get the final drive ratio more or less the same (24/81!!!) but the balance of the car will be different...

I run a carpet track occasionally that requires chassis protectors. I have had quite a bit of success with mine. I get 5-10 races out of them before I change to a different design. I had a decal made out the same material for20+ races on the bottom of my sct truck that i just recently changed out because I went with a new color. Feel free to pm if your interested in some.

That's what I use, works flawlessly and is painfully cheap. SUPER durable, and can be restuck dozens of times. As a matter of fact, I just pealed off the very first one I cut for my RB6 build... it was still perfectly fine too. Iv used the same roll for all my cars (and my wife's) over the last 2 years, and the roll still looks unused.

it just depends on if you want to go plain black or if you want to get a matching design! anything works.

I just wanted to throw out the options of what i can do. of course a printed / contoured cut one is going to be more money. The RC industry is "ALOT" about looks and a matching chassis protector that works is a pretty cool attention getter.

just depends on if you want to spend the extra money. you get what you pay for.

I'll post pics of my RB6 later tonight when I have some time.

It appears Scotchrap 50 is 10mil thick and Scotchrap 51 is 20mil thick. So for 4"x 100' of Scotchrap 51 un-printed 20mil thick for about $57 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotchrap-A.../dp/B005YSMZBA

Let me know if anyone knows where to find it cheaper.

So after running Durango stuff for a year...can't decide between the RB6 and the Cougar SVR.... What's this buggy like compared to the others out there?
Does it come with carbide diff balls?
What are the weak parts on the buggy?

You get what you pay for. Get the rb6 . Still have schumacher stuff but I prefer everything in the kyosho , I mean everything(the rb5 in some ways was lacking compared to the svr).

Chassis - svr cheap stamped aluminum easily dented mine on the sv2, rb6 - machined 7075 which hardly scratches

Shocks - no comparison box stock k shocks are better than others with all the bells and whistles

Fit and finish - about equal with schumacher being more brittle

Diff - pain in @$$ to build the schumacher but comparable to the kyosho when done right

Wheels - schumacher still has the old style pin wheels and bearings up front

There is nothing on/in the SVR that is better than the RB6... That being said, the SVR (and schumacher stuff in general) is fantastic, so is overall schumacher fit, finish and quality. The shumacher diff isn't as nice as the tried and true kyosho, but the shocks are really close.

The main difference between the two will be local support and parts. If you are looking for which car would have the edge, I am guessing you can expect a bit of a bias opinion on this thread.

The only parts on the RB6 (or 5, for that matter) That are a must have for durability reasons, are aluminum rear suspension hangers. Everything else on the car is absolutely top shelf.

(edit, there is one thing that is far better with schumacher.. Manual and bag packaging for the build. Schumacher is #1 there)
