Cheaper, and more readily available.

I have both the VTS and an Avid, albeit no in an RB6 (B4, SC10 and B44). They perform the same, but the Avid is considerably more expensive, and harder to source parts for. You're also limited on spur gear selection with the Avid. VTS sits inside the hexagonal recess in the spur, so you can mount it to any AE style spur.

I've found that the multiplate slippers help put the power down smoothly. A traditional slipper transfers power abruptly. It's either slip or grip. The VTS makes the transition smoother, so you can start putting the power down sooner. It helps keep the car from getting too squirrely on rutted up tracks as well.
I tried it and the VTS does not fit over the stock Kyosho top shaft.

Buying everything from scratch, the Triad parts are priced the same as B4 slipper parts. The VTS costs less as an upgrade if you've already purchased an AE slipper. The Triad is much lighter (about 10g) and is more compact. Because of the small diameter design, there is a handling difference on the track between a VTS and Triad and I found the Triad to give less wheelspin and better feel in corners and jumps. Not many people have had the extensive testing time that I have in running both mulit-plate setups in mod 2wd buggy. Running mod buggy with the Triad yielded the fastest, most consistent laps. As with any AVID product, if you buy a Triad and are not satisfied, you can return it to us for a refund.

Haha after my experience with the cougar no ways!! I had made a carbon fiber version of the wing that thing was too damn stiff everytime it flipped it would make a god awful noise.

I now cut the vertical wall between the two side fins as close to the wing surface as possible. Makes the side fins flex the most without tearing and the shock tower takes the max brunt of the impact. I am not so good a driver to notice the reduction in down force .

Is anyone currently running the Orion VTS lipo with weights? I have one on the way and wanted to see what the dialed set up is.

I thought Lee lined up a US distro, thought it was on liverc or something.

I would drop him an email, but he'll be heading to Argentina!

Use LMR on my DB1, FS2 and RB6. Spot on.
