Hard to say what happens with things. Mine I know has taken tons of abuse when I cant clear the rather large triple at West Coast RC in stock and have cased the top of the last jump who knows how many times and nothing. I don't think running chassis tape would fix that kind of issue.

i wonder why they made the tail section of the chassis thinner then the rest? anyone have any ideas on this, and are the people who are denting the chassis setting ride height on the thinner part of the chassis. the way the setup sheet look it should be measured under the rear bulkhead, just wonder if that may be causing excessive chassis slap

I just stripped my chassis down to ship to Kyosho. Took some measurements with my calipers, the rear chassis thickness is 2.5mm the milled out trans section seems to be 2.1mm deep, that little square doesn't stand a chance.
I wish they would have made a cut out in the chassis for the transmission!

It may help protect from scratching, and spread the load of any impacts over a bigger area?

had to go back 5 pages to see what all the chat was about, while going back from page 136 to 131 I found it funny as a couple of people who posted what seemed like detailed info about the design didn't even have an rb6. no big deal just funny. So when I finally saw the pic I just thought about how nice those A.P.E. plates are....
Surely in testing someone at some point cased that spot so I would be surprised if K got the "design" wrong.
Does the chassis get treated after machining? perhaps this is simply a bad batch of chassis.

This posted earlier by steam "I was told the next batch of cars should be here in the US in early November."

1) Filling in the excess recess area, under the tranny case, with clay (as suggested by kyosho). and/or
2), running a plastic (or whatever material) skid plate over the back of the chassis.
