Default How do you change drive pins?

I have a Durango 210 and the drive pins on the dog bones are looking a bit flat on one side.

Im thinking about swapping them for new ones, same with the outdrives and am wondering how do you take them out and put in fresh ones?

I will also look at doing the 410 as well when the need doing.

Is there a good tool?
A DIY tool?

That hudy tool I have only works for 1/8 size pins 3 mm or so. I think 1/10 are 2.5mm or thinner.

Any pin press your Using a Hammer for is IMO not right. a Pin Press is just that, A Press.

I personally use a Ebay Chain breaker (30-40$) and have used it with Great Success for the past 3+ years. No broken/Shattered pins and have Never encountered a Pin i couldn't press.

Do you heat the ball before pressing the pin?

+1

I think I paid $15 for my chain breaker, then I bought the 3mm pin for a couple extra bucks. It works pretty good, sometimes the pins will spin off each other, so I use a collet to keep the pins from doing that.
