RC10GT Setup Help

I have a 5 or 6 year old rc10gt, it was when the rtr versions first came out, its been upgraded somewhat, but I am actually going to race it, I hope. Most the tracks around here are loose dirt, so Im wondering if anyone knows a good setup, I tried it once on a track, and it just spun out everywhere and would not hook up for nothing. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Well I wrote a big long post thinking you were a newbie. Posted it and then saw the list of cars you have and post count. So I'm guessing you aren't new to racing so I'll rewrite.

For real loose dirt tracks I like proline lugnuts. They will dig! Bowties are decent too and may let it turn better depending on other things.

For shocks I'd go 35 oil in front with silver springs, 30 in rear with green or silver springs. Greens should help you for spinning out.

You can flip the clutch shoes around to the leading position so they engage earlier and help control wheelspin. Also move the spacer in the rear hub carriers to behind the carrier. It'll put more weight on the rear tires for more traction.

I've never had spinout problems on loose dirt. But on slick tracks I go with higher gearing to help control spinning out. If you want more info I'll pm you with a link to a good discussion about the gt and spinning out.

You've got PM.

That's funny. I'm an offroader getting into carpet racing right now. Only for the winter though. Hehe.

Excellent.

Ya, I'd like to try carpet racing, I use my onroads and 12th scale on an outdoor asphalt track, which may be closing down soon. Plus, its the only one in the Houston area, its hard to believe there isnt any others in such a big, business based city.

You may want to try Jared Tebo's setup from the Nationals and Nitro Challenge. Here's a direct link to the setup.
