What tires are available for 4wd buggies, besides the stock ones that come on each buggy itself? I know about Pro-line, but I'm having trouble finding anything else. I'm looking for some street tires and for some rough gravel tires in particular.

Rear tires are easy -- anything that fits a 2WD buggy fits most wheelers.

Up front there are four tires readily available in the US: Pro-Line Holeshots, and Taper Pins, Blockheads, & IFMAR Pins from Losi. Other than those, you'll have to make your own by cutting the center out of a pair of rear tires and gluing them back together to make fronts.

For all terrain tires, proline makes Dirt Hawgs for the Buggy as well as road hawgs and Road Rages. Dirt hawgs have the most agressive tread and highest profile. I have these and ran them on my SB Sport when I first got it. They worked pretty well on the rough stuff and actually on carpet as well.

Losi seems to have the most 4wd front tires to choose from.

Like YoungChazz said, rears are just 2wd buggy rears.

I try to stock up on the fronts if I can.

IFMAR Pins from Losi they dont make this tire anymore they do have theIFMAR STUD if that is what your think of YoungChazz

There are places you can still get the IFMAR pin. A shame they discontinued it as its a great tire. If you can find them, stock up, especially the fronts.

Big Shots in the rear are also nice when the track gets bumpy.

The fronts I am having the hardest time finding ( IFMAR Pins ). For big shots and IFMAR pins for the rear in red compound, just search ebay as there is a guy selling them. He also had 4wd studs for the front. I actually got a set of 4wd DS studs fronts in, 3 new pairs for 5 bucks Since they are blue, when I run them I can spot my vehicle easier.

Cain, at Twin cities Hobby in Minnesoeta the hot setup for 2wd buggy is to cut the center portion out of the rear tire to bring it down to the correct width. Sound's like a pain to me too but the guys up there swear it only takes 10 minutes per tire. This trick would really increase the possibilities for 4wd front tires too...

I have heard of people cutting out the center of the tire to make step-pins all around on bad track conditions.

I think I found a place that has the pins in stock as well as some other 4wd fronts I am looking for.

From what I am gathering from people's advice, the silver compound would work better for what I am doing.

Cain, can I also have that link? I'm looking for some agressive fronts. Otherwise I'm makin' some step pin fronts! I think Hole Shots will keep me in good traction at the rest of the tracks.

the best is to use all 4 new tyre or all 4 same tyre. but in this situation, where to use this type of tyre whether front or rear:-
- new + old tyre
- hard + soft compound tyre
- big + small thread design
- curve / flat style tyre
