Default Metal spur ok in 1/8 buggy?

I just converted a JQ THE car to a brushless using the Tekno kit. I ordered a plastic spur that the JQ forum recommended but i did not have the correct o'ring or extra seals to shim it so the gears did not bind. So i built it with the stock metal spur gear.

Is their anything i should be careful of with this setup? I race Saturday and will not receive the part in time. just a temporary run.

I run a metal spur on my 8ight-E without any problems. It will be a bit louder, but other than that you should not have any problems.

No problems at all

If it is a bit loud, then you can adjust the gear mesh a bit.

I run Mugen MBX6 Eco, but I just don't trust plastic spurs. Metal runs for years.

plastic make sure your mesh is dead on any moving your done. Metal is my selection more durable and fail proof but if you mesh is correct your plastic spur will last as a metal it just opens the door for failure when things go wrong.

Plastic spur gears are fine on 1/8 scales it depends on the manfacters who make them and your gear mesh . Ive ran one for a season and there fine no stripping or fast wear .

The benefit on running a plastic spur gear is theres way less weight less rotateing mass.
