I don't understand why 1/10 4wd Buggy is dead in US club racing?

4wd buggy drivers are not normally hacks. I said 2wd because that is the most popular class in most places. SC is a hack fest like pre mentioned. I am surprised by the number of people that run SC and have never owned a 2wd buggy. When I ran nitro is was a pretty big hack fest. as bad or worse than SC. Too much power for the new guys and they get way too excited by all the noise.
I would run 4wd buggy if the class existed here. I only see them at larger races. And even then it is maybe one heat. But there are like 5-6 heats of 2wd buggy at any given event.

4wheeler has been awesome in Nashville this winter. We had 15 entries last week. The class is growing quickly, there are several guys that aren't quite finished with theirs yet so we are expecting more each week. It is an open class run, what you brung and hope you brung enough! I think most are running 6.5-8.5 motors. I am loving racing the 1/10 electric buggies again (2 and 4wd). It reminds me of racing "back in the day" *cough 1986 cough*. Come on down to Nashville with your 1/10th 4wd buggy!

If anyone is looking for a cheap competitive entry level 4wd buggy, I would take a look at the Tamiya DB01R.

I'm trying to get behind the 4X 1/10 buggy at our local track. Classes have been small sometimes I just run respectfully with the 2wd guys if not enough show for a 4x class.
Don't have any fully built pics at the moment but here's a couple older progress pics exactly 3 rear wings ago.
Running a regular ole' Tekin RS and a 7.5 with 15* of boost timing. Very smooth power only uses about 2500mah from my cheapo 5000mah batteries in a 8min race. Never gets over 130* (smaller ~17sec indoor track)
Absolute blast to drive!
