Default SC10Rs brushless help!

So im looking for a new brushless motor for my sc10rs but don't know what to get so i was looking for some recommendations. But should i keep the sc 700 esc and buy a new motor or a new system. Im looking for a motor that isn't necessarily fast but something that will take off smooth on the jumps. im willing to cash out maybe $70 or less on the motor and also what steering servo would you guys recommend thinking something under $40.thanks in advance

I just ordered this BL 4 pole for a friend and it comes in different kv's. It should be what your looking for.

Here's another from Leopard.

I also ordered this servo for myself. Titanium gears, dual BB, thick aluminum case, coreless motor, and waterproof.

Here's the manufacturers webpage. They also make other speed and torque versions and even high voltage servos.

I'll second the Leopard 4 pole 3900KV. Running that motor in my Slash. Works perfectly fine.

It'll just be a pain trying to get 48p pinion gears because they'll need to have a 5mm bore.

You need to look into a sensored esc/motor system.

What do you guys think of the Novak club spec 17.5t sensored combo. Has anyone ever used and will it be a upgrade to the stock sc10rs brushless.

Will be slower. I'd aim for a 10.5T or 13.5T sensored combo. Similar power to what you're used to but sensored as well. IMO though, when you racing, you can't really tell a sensored setup from a sensorless setup. I reckon the only time you'd tell is for onroad racing.

A heads up on the pinions.
Robinson Racing makes 5mm 48P (.8 mod) pinions in sizes from 11T to 25T. They cost about $8.00.
Traxxas also makes a few for about $5.00 each.
I'm using the 18T .8 mod from Traxxas and they have worked great.

Isn't 0.8MOD 32 pitch? I think you're getting confused...

The Reedy 3300kv motor that comes in the RS is actually not too bad. If you go sensored you'll probably want to go down to a 10.5 to get something decently faster than the Reedy. I don't know about the SCT combo from Castle, but I have the Sidewinder Sv2 4600kv combo in my RS...and it is plenty fast for me. Definitely an upgrade from the stock Reedy. Neither my ESC nor motor gets hot at all on me, just warm. I like it and can usually keep up with guys running 10.5/8.5 motors.

You are correct.
RRP does make 48P 5mm pinions in 17T to 45T in odd numders (17, 19, 21). Their about $8.00.
