1/8th scale buggy servo choice
Hey there.
Just got a nice used 9.5 pro, but I think my choice of servos was a little off.
Steering = JR Z590M (85 oz)
Throttle/Brake = JR 270 (49 oz)
Do I have enough torque? I'm thinking about moving the Z590M into throttle/brake duty and picking up a Z650M for steering, but if I've got enough with the current setup, I'd like to spend that money elsewhere.
Thanks for your help.

you need to upgrade your throttle to the 590 at least if not to the 650, and the steering to the 8550 or equivalent. if you cannot afford the 8850 then two 650 will do the trick on for each. you just willnot have quite as much on the steering. I ran a 650 for steering on my k car buggy that I bash with and it was ok for bashing but if you want to race you will need to look at going high in the torque range.

I'm using the JR 8611 with 260 oz torque with .15 speed and a JR 8450 with .08 speed and over 100 oz torque for the throttle. I think those should do the trick!!!!!!!!!

Well I just picked up a Hitec HS-5645MG digital off e-bay for a decent price, then was swiftly crucified by my racing buddies for buying a HiCrap servo.
Did I do bad massa?

I've got a KO 2363 for steering and a 2364 for throttle and brake. Plenty of steering speed and stopping power. Heat sink servos are the way to go.

I trust Sanwa for both.
not Airtronics, they might look like they are the same but I owned two Airtronics (bought of Tower) and they were off in about two weekends.
I use the Sanwa servos for almost a year and a half with absolutely no maintenance at all and I am very happy.
Steering: Sanwa ERG-VX 200oz./in. Aluminum case
Throttle: Sanwa ERG-WRX 120oz./in. Digital
Excellent choices. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it.
