Default Xray 808 vs Ofna lx2e

Hi everyone,
Its my first thread so bear with me.

I'm planning to drive 1/8 Buggy ON-ROAD !!!!

I have several 1/10 tc cars, sakura zero, 2x TC4, jl10e.

I'm fed up replacing parts every week and the type of parking lot is not good for 1/10, hence 1/8 buggy.

There's a club down here and they only drive 1/8 nitro buggy on road.

1: exchange jl10e+gt3b+ezrun9t = xray xb808 nitro chassis(i'll still have to get brushless conversion sc8+cheap motor or go nitro )
2: get ofna lx2e + ezrun sc8+ cheap motor

I want the xb808 because its light
I want the lx2e because its cheap, going onroad and no jumping.

Is it worth getting the xb808??

Help me decide,
thanks.

The only downside to the BOB is it's touchy pinion gear bearing setup and it's lack of suspension travel.

Neither will be a problem onroad.

When it comes to dialing in & getting the right roll-center, swaybar, or other adjustment the Ofna will be lacking.

The Serpent, Xray or other might be a better choice.

Are parts for the XB808 spec 2008 still readily available?

As I've been told, the upgrades from '08 to '09 to '10 to '11 were minor, & every thing was bolt on.
It is possible to upgrade to the new geometry as you break, or wear out.
It may cost a touch more to replace a couple of parts, but it will be new spec.

I have heard a couple of differences in pinion support & possibly gear case design, otherwise no complaints from local Xray racers (other than the little things).

Well turned out it was the xb8. It was pretty in good condition.

I swapped a jl10e + fs-gt3b for this.

How good is the XB8 (Not XB808!) compared to an xb9?
For road, i guess will be the same depending on setup.

Should i be worried about spare parts (xray doesnt support old cars well)?
Where can i get parts for the xb8?

I personally didn't like that radio so I think you made an improvement there, & as far as an XB8 & parts & interchangeability, that will be a good question for the hardcore Xray guys.

It is still made of top quality stuff, just have to see what new parts can be bolted on.

Well this hobby here is quite expensive.
They pay around $20 for 1L of 20% fuel.
The gt3b here cost $150.

Anyway i didnt really get something better just got the updated one the FS-GT3C.

Hopefully the 3c is faster than the 3b...
Where are you located, & I thought $30 a gallon for fuel was too much for 20%

1 US gallon = 3.78 liters

Convert that thing to electric!

The XB8 (2005-2007) is still the current chassis concept, the 808 '08 '09 '10 '11 are updated versions
The XB9 2012 will be a newer design all arround.

I live in Mauritius.
I dare you to find it on a map

Well i just found out it still has that expo problem

Well i was planning to convert it, but the car really just needs an engine to run.

I got air filter, engine mount, exhaust, manifold, Brake system, etc...
Its going to cost me a lot to convert to electric.

Mount+ESC+Motor+batteries = a LOT
Cheap .21 motor $80-$120
