Was at the track all day yesterday running this motor. Dirt track, medium loose. 16c ambient temperature. I got the stock Mugen eco body with some more vents done to increase airflow around the motor. Great day and the motor performed well, especially for 40usd! Max motortemp, 62C. I love these Hobbywing xerun 80a esc. Fan does not work but it never termals. Keeping at cool 40C! I will do a test between the turnigy and leopard and compare runtimes.

From what I know and have read 160 degrees is the optimal temp for brushless motors in general. Running at 160 your getting the best performance the motor can offer with no risk of thermal damage.

Ran a 2100kv today at PHDR (Brisbane, Australia) in a Mugen Eco with Mamba Monster V5. Motor never got above 70 degrees C, speedy sat on 44 degrees C.
Ran just as smooth as a Tekin with no cogging at all.

For the price, the other manufacturers better be careful, that's all I can say.

I too run the xerun 2,000kv sensored motors. I love mine and the motor is a great deal compared to the big name motors. I have zero problems running with tekins, castles..etc.. And my motor stays cool all the time.

Hy all,
I'm planning to use the 2100kv motor in a 1/8 electric truggy.
Do you have any opinion?
I mean will it be enoigh?
Has this mptor the necessary torque to move the truggy dynamic on. 4 cell?
Thanks the responses!

If your referring to this motor:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_2100KV.html

It will be MORE than enough for any truggy or buggy. I just recently bought one and have it in a RC8.2E and it has TONS of power. Reminds me of my Tekin and EZRUN motors. It's sensored so it's smooth with NO cogging when matched with a Speed Passion Silver Arrow V2 esc. For the money it's an awesome deal.

Actually I thought on the turnigy 1/8 scale 4 pole brushless motor wich costs only 40$
I read in the reviews that some people use it in a savage or in an e-max.

Just got my Turnigy Trackstar 2100kv this week. I made the mistake of getting a sensored motor and the ESC I got was a new Hobbywing 150a pro NON sensored one. Do you guys know if I can run the motor and ESC together? The Hobbykng page says it will work, just need a confirmation to be sure.

Hi MattP, do you think it will be a good motor for racing?? I am just starting running 1/8 buggy and do not want to spend much money for the motor. Thanks

curious on this motor as well. Liking SP prices on there ESCs, still waiting on a motor from them however that can do the job.

This motor has the looks of some other brands (2100Kv) sensored and has the Kv range that would work great for 1/8 buggy.

Anyway, has anyone opened up this motor and compared it to say the likes of Tekin, etc?

Yes it's an excellent motor for racing. It's sensored so it's super smooth and yet it still makes a TON of power. It's a good motor for both buggy and truggy.

I have another one on the way from hobbyking so I might open that new one up and compare it to an extra Tekin I have here. If I do I will be sure to post side by side comparison pics for you.

Cool. At least on the outside the can has a familiar look to it that's for sure.
