Curious what pinion I should be running, since I've never run 1/8 e-buggy before, and I can't find any info from the manufacturer's website...

Buggy is an Ofna Ultra LX2-e, I'll be running a 1700kV motor, on 4S. Not looking to break any land-speed records here, just a basher, little racing, if any.

I'd start at a 18t pinion (maybe even 17t) and go from there. I'm running the same buggy with a 16t pinion and a 2000KV XERUN motor.
