Default which is better?

Which would be a better combo for the 2wd slash...the mamba sct or the velineon? Also, should I get the 12800 mah 3s from traxxas?

I think the mamba sct is better. But even better and cheaper would be WWWdothobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=272 atleast if you run on a track the smooth feel of a sensored motor is very nice to have.
Those are around 160$.
12.8A 3S sounds super heavy.. you dont need that long of a runtime from one battery do you? 5000mah 2S should get you about 25-40minutes runtime with properly set up electronics and gearing.
5000mah 3S is overkill with most motors but there is 3400kv 4 pole motor available from hobbywing in that sct-pro-c combo if you find a dealer for it, that would be very sweet with 3S.

I love my tekin pro 4 4000k on a 5000 mah 25c 3s lipo! its in a 4x4 slash and it a blast to play. Just be prepared to buy the mpi cvd's because you will break the factory axles a lot!

I herd that the mamba sct esc draws a lot of amps as is to the velineon does not, I also herd that the velineon heats up quicker and runs hotter than the mamba, 14 amps sure sounds like a lot to me
