Default over heat, need help!!!

need help!!
i have a losi ten t that i converted to electric wich is i guess the same as the scte. i put a castle sct 4 pole combo in it. at first it seemed ok drove it quite a bit and was happy with it while i was learning the truck but now that the weather has gotten warmer i seriously drive for 10 min (and not even real hard cuz im a rookie still) and the thing shuts off and the esc flash's what is im guessing an over heat code. let it sit for a min and it goes again then shuts off. i have the fan on the motor but im guessing its an esc thing. so i guess my question is what motor esc can i get that has plenty of power and that i dont have to worry about overheat? i live in vegas and even at night in the summer i will be driving at around 90 degrees. i run 2s 5000mah lipo. im not scared to spend in the $300 range as long as this overheat issue goes away. help me please!

Whats your gearing? Alot of times people have there gearing too high or in some cases too low, that will cause over heating.

Are you running the 3800 and sidewinder deal? If so get a hobbywing and. Tenshock and be happy, or the copperhead

Sounds like your esc may be thermaling out on you. I've seen this at our local track and adding fan on the esc was the cure. A Castle 3800kv & Mamba Max Pro combo will do very well in that truck. Several guys locally run this setup and it's awsome!

Yes running the 3800 sct combo. This is the 2nd time I've had problems with it, esc shorted out and I sent it back to castle and they sent me a new 1but now this prob. Should I get a 550 sized motor for it and a esc with a fan? I think I will just put the castle back in my 2wd sct, maybe it will hold up better in that?

Do they offer a fan for that particular esc?

I would personally get a fan to save money on getting a new esc but if you really wanted to you should get the Duratrax DE10. I havn't personally got one but it's apparently very good and durable according to a few reviews. If you do get it, it's advised to get the programmer with it.

So if I get a fan for my esc but only have 1 aux channel on my reciever I can't run the fan for the motor and esc. I assume the fan on the esc is more important?

If you need a fan on your motor, you're probably overgeared anyway.

What you could also do is cut a whole in your body to allow more air to flow round it but this depends on wether your willing to ruin the body a bit. If you are thinking about doing this ou could find places on the body where it could make it look better, for instance a place which looks like an air vent could be cut out and turned into a real air vent and I would also put some chicken wire in the gap to prevent rocks and dirt to get in.
