very true. its better. just didn't feel the cost was necessary for me. good luck though.

I do like your body. I would sheetrock and shoo good that bad boy especially in the back and on the front fender where it likes to crack. especially since you cant get bodies right now.

I thought of that, but the darn thing has so many coats of paint on it it weighs a ton already.

Luckily I have a spare, unpainted body for back up.

Got a pile of Type B parts for my DEST210. Still waiting on a new set of bearings and then I can start getting ready for indoor season.

I also see that DEST210 bodies have been pushed back until November at Tower Hobbies. :P

I'm almost done building my truck. I've more or less just got shocks left.

The only issue I ran into while building this was with the ball diff. I was able to assemble it with no issues, but when I tightened the nut, I overtightened and managed to strip the brass threads right out of the nut. I bought another one, and did the same thing.

I re-watched the assembly video and finally realized that I'm an idiot. When I watched it previously, I kept watching them tighten until the diff locked. I kept tightening until I couldn't turn the two ball cups opposite each other, all the time wondering how the hell this is supposed to turn if the diff is that stiff. It didn't get into my thick skull until after I stripped the 2nd nut that the diff can't possibly need to be that tight, that the goal has to be to tighten it enough to stop it from slipping, and then just a little more to provide a limited-slip type of tension. I re-watched the video, and of course, the person in the video was trying to spin the gear with the ball cups locked, not trying to spin the ball cups opposite each other. Sometimes I make myself wonder...

Grr... rear arms rub on the Type B gearbox. You'd think that Durango would have fixed this. Oh well, trimmed off some plastic with the xacto and the rubbing is pretty much gone.

I was thinking the Team Associated GT2 body is pretty close.

yeah im still using the same one since I built it in January. I did a lot of reinforcing with sheetrock tape and shoe goo.

If they come out with a a T5 around Christmas. I may just replace my dest and get one. Love the truck. It will be hard to see it go.

If Associated does come out with a T5 or even a new SC, based off the new B5 I would probably be interested as well.

However, maybe Durango will come out with a new 2wd SC and ST based off the aluminum chassis DEX210V2

I'm torn, I've always pretty much been a AE guy, but I got the Durango bug when I got this ST. I like it so much I ordered DESC210R kit from Tower last week.

In talking to Trakpower guys there are no plans on a new SC or ST. Hence why I left Trakpower and Durango and back to AE. Which is sad because I really liked the DESC210. Just couldn't get arms st the time. Was fast and stable.

We (Trakpower team members) have not heard anything from Durango as to future support after this next round of parts being released. Doesn't bode well for the longevity of the brand as s whole. I have asked over and over again if these vehicles are going to be updated and never hear everything back. All of the local tracks/shops here in LA are dumping stock of Durango faster then you can say oh shit.... Doesn't look good. Hence why I reluctantly switched back to AE and XRAY.

The one thing I don't like about the B5 platform is that it doesn't come with both the mid and rear motor parts.

I was going to pick up a DESC210 for the indoor season but from what jpcopeland1 is saying, I may just hold onto my SC10 for now.

Yeah, that's my feeling too. I feel like TD Is focusing pretty much on buggies. There were rumors long ago about the DESC210v2 but since it's not out yet, I don't know if it's ever coming out.

I was pretty committed to TD but I switched to Serpent because I just drove it better. i just hope they aren't TD 2.0.

I actually sold my SC10's and recently bought a Durango DESC210R. I feel that the SC10 platform is really dated. You can't beat the durango with the ability to go RM or MM in one kit. ON the track I race at, MM is the hot ticket.

I talked to someone at Team Durango about a week or two ago, I think a DESC210 V2 is a real possibility
