It looks like a whole new level of Tamiya weirdness, as if an off-road version of the TC-01 chassis layout, with the rear dampers mounted upright... Just another kit for people to snap up, hoard, and then markup 200% and post on eBay.
The most curious detail I see in that teaser is what looks like suspension mounted fenders over the wheels!?

Well at least they’re trying something different, rather than the usual Fire Storm Phoenix Dragon plastic weirdness.
Additionally the chassis is called TD.. which. Follows TA, TB, TC.. so it’s a mid level chassis, which brings higher quality plastic and TRF optional parts.. which their buggies have lacked for 10 years

I like the look of the aero screen for the driver figure. Have not owned a Tamiya for a while. This might be the one. Cheers. 'AC'

This looks moderately interesting, I miss their TRF series buggies...

Ah!, yes, In the car I designed and build with a friend 12 years ago!!!
First prototype at the Euro 2009 in Bilbao.
Both next prototypes at the NOCUP in Wolfsburg 2017.

^What was your car based off/used components from?
This new buggy looks like the Avante and Holiday Buggy had a baby together.....

Isn´t based on any other previous car. Just wanted to eliminate the front suspension tower. Apart of Kyosho suspension arms, hubs and differentials, and Tamiya TRF dampers, all was self designed and manufactured. And because in 2009 the 3D printing process were very green. My plan nowadays, after finishing the new touring car I´m working on, is to update the suspension arms and hubs.

^It's lovely, can I haz one when you've updated it? Preferably with strong arms....

Apparently there will be more details on this buggy tomorrow....

^Don't think so. They mentioned central battery pack, so it could be an offset driveshaft like an Avante or a DF-03, but this being Tamiya it could literally be anything under the sun lol. Regardless, they said they would release more details tomorrow.

The prop shaft can do whatever it likes.. be vertical or horizontal.. It all depends what’s in the gear box 😉
Mantaray ball diff found it’s way into TA01/02/03 M03/04/05/06.
TA06 gear diff has founds its way into XV-01, M07/M08.
