Default 1/8 Scale Buggy. What Cell Lipo do you use ??

So im planning on getting into racing my Currently new purchased ( USed RC8e ) Iv done some conversions on it to 8.2 specs and i was just wondering what Lipo you guys out there that are already racing them are using ??? I currently have a Mamba monster ESC with 2650 kv motor. It pretty fast and stay really cool using the 3 cell but when i use the 4 cell its much faster but does warm up a little. So i was just wondering what you guys out there that are already in the racing seen are using ??? so i know what to get use to.

Thanks.

I'm running a 1900kv motor 17t pinion on 4s, 2650 motor I'd run a 3s to make it more controllable on a track depending on size

2s I think would be sluggish to run in 1/8 but 3s with a good MAh(runtime)the more the longer run time, C rating is your punch (power) so just depends how fast you want it lol

Thumbs up

I Run 6s on a 1900kv tekin motor. So far it is awesome. However ensure all your screws are glued in yes glued in. Also your tires need to be completely glued and secure, one area not glued and you'll rip the tire off the rim...I recently blew the back plate of my teken motor and one of the wire off. So I have to resolder the wire and ordered a new back plate with screws, should be up and running again soon!

People are doing mistakes thinking 6S is always faster than 4S. It depends on the kv of the motor.

If you can, go for more cells and a lower kv motor. It's more efficient and will run cooler. I have a 1400kv motor and use 5S indoors and 6S outdoors and it's perfect. I used to have 2200/ 4S, 2050/4S, 1350/6S, 1400/6S, 4000/ 2S (fried the ESC), back to 1400/6S, and now 1400/5S. I couldn't be happier than my last setup. You might not believe me but I can drive during 20 minutes on an indoor track with a 2200mah 5S lipo. I have to say I'm a smooth driver and my car is very light (less than 3,100kg)

Anyone tried 4s on a 4600kv motor? I have a spare esc / motor combo I'd like to throw in a buggy I just picked while I am waiting on funds to get a lower kv setup.

As in a Pro 4 4600kv motor? On 4s it will cause damage to the rotor and motor. Thats a 2s motor.

RC8Be Mamba Monster, NeuCastle 2200KV -> 4S, 5000 Mah+
RC8Be Tekin RX8, T8 2250KV -> 4S, 5000Mah+

Both run quite well and good enough for 10mins runs.
