Most run lipo front with ESC behind it, but some run ESC behind motor and lipo rear as well. IMO, thats a lot of weight in rear.

I run lipo front and have ajustable M2C chassis with holes to move lipo front to rear. I like lipo one hole to rear

On both of my MBX6 and MBX7 run the lipo in the front and the ESC right behind it.

I'm running the older HW SCT Pro with the HW 4000 Kv 3656SD motor. This combo has been doing well on smaller, tighter tracks, but if I continue to run on the bigger outdoor tracks I might consider either the Tekin Pro4HD 4300 Kv or the HW 4300 Kv 3660SD motors.

I think 14t is where you will end up depending on size of track.

I'm running a 14t pinion with the 44t spur. I should have gone up a tooth or two on my pinion on our previous big track layout as my motor wasn't getting all that hot. I haven't raced on the new layout, but it doesn't look like there are too many high speed opportunities so my current gearing might be just fine.

Good comparo. My MBX7R-SCT with the graphite chassis, sans body and battery weighs in at 5 lbs, 8.2 oz. or 5.513 lbs. Also, I switched over to a Traxxas Slash body. It weighs less than the Proline (I think) body that my son was using.
