If you are talking about the plate, buy some 4-5mm thick carbon graphite sheet. Can use fiberglass sheet, but its not as strong. Easier to work with aluminum if thick enough to not bend. Make a square, or whatever shape you want, template from thin cardboard such as a cereal box. Make sure its large enough to use the shock bolts and maybe two more bolts to have a firm mount. You might need to drill a couple holes in the metal tower. Drill your holes, sort out hardware. Then use some shoe goo or Goop to make a good bond where the plate you made and the shock tower mate up. Now bolt it all up and you should have a lot of space to mount body post or bumper mounts. I have repaired many broken shock mounts this way and most ended up as permanent repairs. Best example I could find: http://i68.tinypic.com/51r1c1.jpg

You can also use the stock mount as a template and make a new one without cutting out all the extra material. A band saw makes this an easy project. Wear a good mask to keep from inhaling airborne contaminants. The graphite is very irritating.

[QUOTE=ThirdCoastRC;14649241]I read somplace on the web that some people used the mb6/7t (Truggy) front shock tower for the SCT rear, and the mbx6/7 (buggy) rear tower for the SCT front. SCT towers tend to have a wider stance as opposed to buggy, and was wondering if anyone has seen this done, and if so, how it performed?

Is this true what he said

Truggy parts interchange, but I don't know what is different about the shock towers. Maybe height is different?

I do know the converted MBX6 ebuggy I have doesn't need a different shock tower. It has the silver Carbon towers and they are perfect for the truck. Taller towers or longer shocks seem like a waste of time, money and effort. For sure you don't want to add any weight no matter what.

Very nice! Looks like that's going to be what I replace my current bumper with.

Takes a little bit of work to get it to fit. But pretty easy.

Default MBX7R ECO

so for those of you that have done it....just to minimize having parts for 3 different cars (I run buggy and truggy ), is it possible to just bolt on the bumpers and body post to an MBX7R eco without any mods? other than the mounting points for the bumpers and body post.

I don't run any ROAR races and I know that other than being 10mm wider that would be it correct?? mine is an MBX6 eco conversion.

thanks for your replies.

It works, but tires will hit the body fenders as they stick out too far. Cutting the body for tire clearance makes it fragile and more prone to damage. Tends to fold where windshield and fender opening are close. If they allow you to run it I say go for it. Once you start winning get ready for cheater truck comments.

LOL, I see what you mean, it's just that I already carry parts for my MBX7R buggy and I have an MBX7R eco that I could convert.
thanks for your reply and I will let you guys know if I convert it....right now the 6 is working good but eventually I would like to do the switch
