LiPo's - 'FORBIDDEN transport aboard aircraft or vessel' ???
I've ordered a few LiPo batterries in USA and now I would like to ship them to Poland. However, there is an information on the box which came from TowerHobbies: 'Lithium batterries - Forbidden transport aboard aircraft or vessel'.
I'm pretty confused now as I can't see any other possibilities to ship the batteries over the Atlantic Ocean. And I know that many online rc shops offer air shipping when buying LiPo's (and these are big companies which wouldn't do it if it was prohibited).
Could you tell me if the air/sea transportation of LiPo's is truly prohibited??!!
Really, really strange to me...
Thank you for any input.

UPS will ship LiPo's, so will Fedex.

Just follow the protection guidelines (protect contacts, etc) and you'll be fine. I've never had an issue shipping LiPo's by air anywhere.

HAZMAT
It has to do with FAA rules and Transporting HAZMAT. Operators like FedEx and UPS are authorized to carry Hazardous Material. Airlines don't usually carry HAZMAT because they can't endanger all those passengers.
The funny thing is everyone on board an airline has numerous Lipo batteries on them with all the electronics we bring, laptops, ipads ect. Don't know for sure but I would bet if you had a couple batteries with you in your carry on it wouldn't be looked at. Try to pack a suitcase full and you'll have a problem. There may be a limit on the number you can carry on.

I want to ship 4 LiPo's. Three 4S hardcase packs and a small one for 1/36 scale.
I won't be shipping them via plane because of the cost. Sea transport is much cheaper and I can be sure that the parcell won't be here before my exams what would certainly lead to a catastrophe
