I Laps Transponder:

Uses Infrared.

I have a fully painted body. Will the Ilap transponder register?

No it has to have a clear line of site too the bridge. You can put it under the front window as long as it is still clear.

or use a reamer and make a hole above the TP.

You will need the window clear and free of too much mud or debris.

I found a small cove on my body and velcro it there. That way when the car rolls over I won't tear up the transponder. I have put it on my battery and it reads through the windshield on my buggy.

For our oval cars, we usually put them on the outside of the body (just not on the roof where it would get ripped out).. Somewhere that wouldnt meet the ground is ideal.. like at the bottom of the windshield/back of the hood on most bodies.. we just use velcro..
