Also word from the factory is 80-90% of all parts are shared with the Nitro Buggy. That said I believe things like the chassis, battery trays, motor mounts and reciver box are the only things that differ from the nitro buggy. So for all of you racers you know it will be of great quality and you still do not need to add a ton of spares for a second platform!

Great, what a sweet looking buggy! Not a simple conversion that's perfect. Two lipos setup seem to be the future, this car is sooooo narrow! Even more than the NEXX8 and the S811E ! I can't wait! The DEX408 should be here soon too, with a two lipos setup also

All the big names should do a 1/8 brushless buggy. The market is growing faasst

Thanks for sharing!

Looks balanced and all in a nice straight line. Nice design, best I have seen so far. I would buy one.

I have to agree here, best layout so far IMO. The balance can't be perfect with the motor which is heavier than the components on the other side but it's no big deal because everything is almost on the center line.

I see 1/8 brushless buggies getting lighter and lighter and use smaller motors in the future. There isn't much room left for it, as well as on all the buggies with this type of configuration. The sensor wire could be a problem but I'm sure they thought about it. I'm wondering if there's enough room for 4074 size motors, which are a tight fit on the NEXX8 for example

I hope they'll make a fast changing lipo system too, it's really missing on actual cars. Like a Black & decker tool -> clic and go. That would be awesome! One day we won't even need to remove the body to change lipos I tell ya' I study design myself and I can't imagine nobody will think about it. Lipos slipped from the sides with an integrated protection and here you go

I'm already thinking about two 3800 shorty lipo packs in this thing to centralize the weight even more..... I can't wait!

Guys,

I am thinking like the first order of nitro buggies numbers will be limited. Obviously we will do the best we can to bring in as many as possibe. But if anyone would like to pre-order and reserve one from the first shipment please email me.

I have a few questions :P

- Do you have any idea of the release price?
- When will these kits be available in Europe?
- Do you know if 1512/4074 sized motors will fit, like the castle 2200 or the leopard?

Thanks!

being able to move the batteries closer too and further away from the centerline would be nice. massive adjustment which would give a buggy far more versatility.

The trouble is..the length of the motor and the lipos. 2S 5000mah lipos are quite standard nowadays because of the 1/10 2wd class, so are the motors. Considering they are on the same line, there is not much room left compared to a nitro conversion where the motor and lipo are each on an other side . So finally it's much easier to move a lipo from back to forward on a one single lipo setup than on a two lipos setup.

Edit: sorry I spoke to fast you were talking about the centerline... Yep that would be interesting. But to have the SWORKS perfectly balanced you would have to distance tha right lipo further than the left one to compensate the weight of the motor. That would make the car asymetric or larger, which is not what is waited I think. It could work with a deported center diff though. Honestly I doubt it would make a big difference this layout looks almost perfect to me, good job SWORKS . Massive weight in the front, narrow chassis, the steering should be insane!

We have easily been able to make 10 minute mains on 3700mah running 4s on a 1900-2000kv motors. With the setup on this buggy, two 3800 shorty 2s lipos similar to the Losi packs would give the user the ability to move the packs fore and aft to alter weight distribution for track conditions, driving style, or certain handling characteristics. I am thinking that is going to be a very big tuning option on this car.

From the press release, they are claiming a release date very soon after the toy far. I'm guess late feb - early march.

I am curious on the motor too, from other buggies with the motor and battery on the same side, I am assuming long cans will most likely need some modifications to fit. This car is built around using regular 1/10 2s packs though so that might free up some more room for the motor. I'm sure someone will post up some more info on the motor fitment soon.

its a copy of the serpent 811be with the lipos sideways. highly dispointing, why buy this when the serpent is leaps and bounds ahead of this.

@ Racersx336: Thanks for the info, this buggy is definitely exciting

Concerning the shorty packs I'm not realy convinced. There is not much choice for them and these packs are quite expensive.

Many drivers who choose 1/8 E buggies with 2s lipos have these already. These models are very interesting for people driving in 1/10 and who want to test the 1/8 out.

But I don't see it being a problem, this buggy looks light, why not add some weights in the back if needed? I rather like light buggies with weights added where I want than heavier ones. I converted a JQ which is very light now (a little more than 3kg RTR) and there is a place on the chassis dedicated for the weights, both in the front and in the rear.

??????
Same layout doesn't mean the cars will handle the same. NEXX8, Caster EX1.5R, TQ SX8E, Robitronic Vision had this 2 lipos design even before Serpent as well as Durango with their first prototype of the DEX408.

There aren't billions of design solutions. With one lipo you can either do a simple nitro conversion (mbx6eco, 808E...) or a dedicated electric car (Hyper 9E). With a two lipos setup you have to put everything is in the front, so it's normal the buggies look the same.

The DEX408 will be the same also, and I'm waiting for Xray to react too with a XB9E. I'm about sure most of brands will come out with a two lipos setup like on 1/10 4wd
