I had few Radio Shack trucks but my first hobby grade RC was this Team Associated RC10T. It is now sitting on the shelf

My fist RC was a white Tiger RC from radioshack, My first Hobby grade was a Traxxas REVO 3.3... Honestly a mistake for a beginner 
I went through motors like you wouldn't believe. I've been through 4 motors since 07 and this is the first that has lasted more than 1 gallon. Funniest one that got ruend... it didnt make it more than 3 tanks after breakin. Following the traxxas breaking method i was on the 4th tank, near the end of the tank and lost control. The hot running engin and truck went off the road flipped upside down and sank through a thin sheet of ice and completely dissapeared under 1.5' of water, I've never run so fast in my life.

im a beginner i just got into rc cars. i just got a savage flux and i am loving it!!

Mine first proper RC was a HPI MT2 around 12 years ago, i had a few toy grades and a tamiya thundershot when i was much younger tho
