Got it, thanks. For some reason, I thought you were in Canada. I need to read letters better.

Default Thanks...

Thanks to lowroad and their site Albuquerque Radio Control Off-Road (ARCOR) Raceway, I now have a spare AMB Charge Rack lined up for the repair shop. That will help to make testing AMB20 and AMBrc rechargeable transponders easier. ARCOR is a well-established racing organization in New Mexico.

For you sites that still plan to maintain a rack of rechargeables for your racers, please contact me if you need service. I have been replacing AMB20 and AMBrc cells since 2006 and also have added services for the TranX 160 used in cart racing and the TranX 260 used for scale car racing. My Email address is: [email protected]

Do you repair AMBrc DP transponders?
Got a slight short in it that I would like to get properly fixed since I like my #.

Do you mean a short in the wire inside it? I actually have never tried being that situation has not happened to me yet. I have four of the DP units myself. A guy would need to cut it open to dig out where those wires connect. It is generally is full of epoxy inside; these things are not really designed to be repaired. If the problem is inside, I could cut it open and see about installing a new lead, but it will not be pretty.

Some years ago, I found a site online where someone had opened one up to try to make it smaller to fit better inside of a micro model. If I remember right, he pealed the whole shell off and ground as much of epoxy around the board off ass possible. Maybe that is still up to look at.

Kevin
I figured as much
I already repaired it as much as I could without fully opening it through the tab that can be pried off to expose a little more wire. Hope it stays put, lol.
Thanks for the response, I appreciate it!

You likely have it fixed fine. Just be sure you use some good glue there to hold those wires secure. I have had some transponders come in that had cells replaced by a shop without gluing the new cells down before filling the case with silicone. The site had problems with them shutting down during races. These things just have to work. There are no acceptable shortcuts.
