Electric only or combined with nitros?

i'd say work on cutting down wheel spin. Heck, you may find the actual electric clutch (not the traktion drive) to have benefits from the freewheel effect as you can off power a lot more around the track.

Remember also you don't want to pork up the vehicle too much on the weight side of things if you can avoid it. Find a happy medium.

I've raced against a 1700 on 5s, it was extremely fast. Most are running 1700's on 4s.

20minutes is doable but it's a tall order. You might even consider something like a 1400 on 5 or 6s. 4s will be tough and the battery will be very heavy.

Thanks for your help.

At club level it will be combined with Nitro as the electric class is not that big over here in the UK really. It's growing but not enough to have their own class at club level.

BUT at National level next year will be Electric only class but the total qualifying and final lengths have not been clarified yet.

The electric can out power a nitro easy but need to run as long as them :-)

thats not bad for battery weight considering the size of the lipos. I think my 4S 6000mah PolyRC 25C lipos at the time were like 602g.

I think with a rx8 and 1900kv you can get 20 mins with those 6600mah Nano-techs. You can also turn down the current limit on the rx8 to help with run time set it at 80% im pretty sure it will save some juice in the lipo's. I run the 6000mah 65-130c in a losi scte and they run a long time just havent timed it.

I got 20min racing time with a 2200kv motor and 4s 5500mah lipos on my 808 so 6600 should be no problem. The buggy was light and I'm gentle on the throttle but once you set it right you can get much more runtime you'd think

Yes the weights are confirmed by a friend of mine that has all ready received his :-)

Quoted from the product feedback page:

" There is a pic of one on a digital scale over on rctech and they weigh in at 291g. "

ok, sounds good then.

After viewing the vids of the track you are going to run on, personally, I would get the 1900.

+1 on a high traction track better go for a 1900, 1700 is better suited for smaller tracks with less grip. There are many ways to calm a motor response if you need too

Thanks for the replays guys.

It would sound like the 1900 is best for the high grip Astro tracks and a 1700 for the loose dirt tracks.

What sort of gearing would you think should work well or to start from

Diffs: 13/43 ( front and rear ) smooth gearing
Diffs: 11/43 ( front and rear ) standard
Centre: 44/16 standard
Centre: 45/13 smooth

That's what the nitro run ??

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ben

the 1900 works great on all kinds of tracks. basically what you are doing is matching up the right Kv to the battery and gearing you are planning to use. The 1900 Kv is a smooth motor.
