Default Adjusting Timing

New to offroad electric, can someone please educate me on adjusting timing on a brushlees stock motor. By turning it clockwise/counterclockwise how does this affect the motor.. Thanks

less timing= more torque, less Rpm, less heat

More timing= less torque, more rpm, more heat.
