T4.1 diff fluid

T4.1 diff fluid
I recently decided to get back into RC racing. I just purchased the t4.1 factory team kit. Bashers RC Raceway is my local track and is a smooth packed high bite clay indoor track. When it comes to diff fluid, I don't know where to start. What weight range should I try? I assume I should use a thicker weight fluid for high traction conditions. Any recommendations?

I would use the ball diff first but if the track is high traction start with 5k and go from there. I think I was at 3k with my gear diff in the T4.1.

Have a T4.1 with a gear diff too and was wondering how the 3k fluid you were using compares to the grease that comes stock with it?
Hurry up and get going GatorUF, we need some more late night racing with the Mudneck/Mayor!

I have never used grease in a gear diff.

The black grease is about the same as 3k fluid.

Doesn't the T4.1 FT kit come with a Ball diff? Or did you install a gear diff into it?
I installed a gear diff into my B4.1 and I am running 3k oil.
I am running 5k oil in my SC10

Hinecken's has a gear diff.. My FT has a ball diff. What was your reason for going with the gear diff?

Personally I went with the gear diff, at first, because I had zero experience with a ball diff. Once I used it I never went back. Take your time building it and breaking it in and they are sweet. The ball diff is absolutely the way to go.

I am running 4 gear diff right now., going to try 2 gear diff tomorrow,
I like the gear diff. Holds up longer.

Thanks for the help.
