Which Mod motor?
I need help on which motor to choose. I will be using it to race in a xxx-4. My biggest problem is that I will be racing on tight, medium and open tracks. I would like a motor that would perfrom well on all three tracks. Now money isn't a problem, but I can't get a brushless. Please help. Tell which motor and the winds. Thanks

if moneys not a problem , find out what the top dogs are running on each track, and get one of each.

Well i mean by money is not a problem is that I can buy ONE mod motor and spend as much as I need on that one. The other problem is that it is open buggy at all three places and all run brushless, but I don't have enough for that YET.

thats odd. usually brushless isnt that great of a racing motor. take one of your old motors and slap it in, mod is not always faster. steady is fast. i went from a 14t to a 19t and went up a lap and a half.

Re: Which Mod motor?
The motor is not the problem, the gearing is.
Get a good 12x2,13x2 or 14x2.
Team Orion V2, Peak Vantage, Trinity D6 or P-94.
If you gear them right, you will be set.

The only guy running mod at my track that DOESN'T run a V2 is me and I'm running a brushless. Get a V2 between 10 and 12 turns and you'll be a happy man. I'd probably lean towards the 12t because you might be able to over gear it for long tracks without overheating it as much as a lower turn mod.

i stopped running the V2 because in my 4wd application it was a pain to get the wires soldered on and it would gum up too easily.
I did the cotton mod trick and that appeared to work for some runs but the access to the motor and putting it in was too much of a pain.
If I was running this motor in say a 2wd vehicle, I would definitely run it again.
Right now I went back to my KRs.
