According to the Traxxas site, he's geared way way low for 6s, not too high. Could be the motor is rotating at way too high an RPM. Unless, of course, he's talking about running dual 6 cell NiMH, in which case he's spot on.
Nash running lipo. That traxxas chart is what makes things confusing. I think running after market larger diameter heavyer tyres, ratios have to be adjusted.

Will stick with 4cell and above said gearing for now and maybe get one of those motor can fans for the hell of it.

What should i have run pinion size anyway 6cell?

Yeah , several things could have happened , the bearings might have let go and seized and depending on where the debris went there could be damage too the stator/windings inside the can . Or the magnets grenaded inside and are rubbing the stator/windings in the can which can also cause damage . Or the magnets have detached from the motors shaft and have shifted on the shaft and are rubbing the inside of the motor .

All of which will require a rebuild kit as the others have stated , but if the inside of the motor is damaged (the stator and windings) you will need a new motor .

BTW ta_man , way too help a guy out .

I have this tacon that I run on 4s that is crazy fast. It was on sale at one time for $49. It's a decent sized motor:

Yes, a response to this disparaging remark about Castle motors:

Hate to see a good manufacturer taken advantage of because a person didn't follow sensible guidelines.

IMO, the purpose of a good warranty is so you are protected against the occasional defect, not so you can misuse the product (deliberately, or otherwise) and then have it replaced for free so you can do it again.

He sounds like a newb and needs honest answers not told to do the wrong things and cause more damage too his equipment , why do that ? .

The purpose of this forum is to discuss R/C and HELP your fellow R/C enthusiast to better enjoy our hobby , leave it too the manufacturer to honor THEIR warranty or not .
