Default This is the best way to see how fast your RC Car is! (video)

I always had trouble finding out how fast my RC cars were, until I found this setup! Its accurate, and pretty dang cool! Let me know what you guys think and feel free to ask any questions about the setup.

We're getting the snow right now in Winnipeg...you should see it in a few hours.

When's the next big races inside? A few of us from CRE Raceway want to come down! (And I still need my passport!)

(Very cool camera/software, btw. I calculate speed the old-school way using my GoPro camera, and time how long it takes to hit two markers that are 10 feet apart, then do the math. definately not as cool as your setup!)

I got a new mount that will allow me to relocate the camera so there will be a good view of the tires, suspension and the road. The camera will be safe and secure too which is a big plus! Going to make a new video this week if the snow melts soon enough! I'll put up a video showing the camera and mounting setup.

Really neat way to see how fast your RC is, but is it worth the price tag of ~$230 for everything ? If it was cheaper I would do it.

I've got nearly $800 into my Rustler, and all that got me was a few different LiPo's, the charger for the LiPo's, some extra tires, and a bunch of replacement parts that broke. An extra $250 didn't hurt too much. Besides, the camera can be used for just about anything else you would use a video camera for.

Pretty cool. Did you cut a hole in your top I assume so that the camera sees through? Would love to see the top on picture with the camera installed.
