Default Keeping tires fresh?

Will my used tires maintain a better life if I store them in Ziploc bags when not in use or will they still dry out in the same manner? Will an occasional WD-40 spray do the same trick with less hassle?

Ziploc bags do help, though I don't always use them.

My tires don't usually last long enough for me to worry about rubber degradation. My local track gets pretty abrasive. If the tire does last, then the foam turns to crap, so longevity isn't a major concern.

here are some good tips: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=37

you are spot on with the ziplock method;
wouldn't use any chemicals on them though;

Clean them really good, leaving them dirty will suck the moisture out of the rubber and they will dry out, become hard, crack etc...

A little simple green and throw them in a ziploc!
