Did you use the stock pinion from your slash??? If so you are WAY over geared for the 5.5...also you should go into the settings and turn the punch up from the stock settings, and turn the timing down..default is the 15* setting on timing drop that to about the 7.5* setting..is it the stock pinion and spur your using, or have you re-geared for the 5.5??

IMO, 5.5T/6000KV is too high for a SCT, it will probably overheat with almost every gearing combination. You would've been better off with the 8.5T combo.

I am running a 5800 Kv in my scb with no heat issues, just have to find the right ratio and keep the timing on the low side

Silly question, but did you actually program the esc to the tx? All these gearing recos, and motor suggestions are right, but none of that will cause that initial stutter you are experiencing.

yes i set the esc to the tx, i even switch the remote to see if that was the problem and it wasnt so it has to be gearing.

well, no, not really. It doesn't have to be gearing. Try checking the sensor wire?

sensorless I have one of the esc's he has and a 13.5 version of his 5.5..being sensorless if you over gear it too badly it WILL cog on hard starts..especially with the timing and punch at factory settings while over geared.

batteries may not be up to the job , that combo will probably thermal shutdown pretty quick pushing a sct , 120a speedy would have been better if you must run a 5.5 , as previosly mentioned i'd go to 8.5 . cheers

as Gogi mentined the battery may also be contributing, what are you running for battery??Because the 5.5 DOES demand some serios amperage flow.
