We just redid our tracks layout & we bought 900 feet of new tubing that cost $53.40 for each 100 foot roll from home depot. Our track is 140 feet by 70 feet and it is over 672 feet from the start to finish line. BTW, Awesome track you got there!

Your track looks great, I love the red clay look. I wasn't trying to offend anyone by saying not to buy tube from the depot. I was just letting people know that there are better deals out there. Carter lumber (they have stores in the east and midwest) has 250' rolls for $70 and 100' rolls for $40. I bought 1250' and every little bit helps when buying large quantities.

The track is roughly 145'x90' in it's current configuration. Michigan guys check out rcracingextreme.com (local forum here) and you can find info on the adress and it's where I post open practice dates. Also, I don't charge for practice, just come out and have fun!

I'd tape from any of the elevated turns. There is a 1-2ft tamped walkway around all the elevated areas so marshalls have a place to stand. I'd tape from those areas. Actually, with so much elevation in the track there really won't be a bad place to tape.
