Hot Motor, Cool ESC = Overgeared? in 4X4 Offroad
Is a Hot Motor, Cool ESC Overgeared? Or Undergeared?
Is a Cool Motor, Hot ESC Overgeared or Undergeared?
I have searched the forums, and found answers that contradict one another. I am hoping someone in here can come and state which is true. If you believe a Hot Motor Cool ESC is overgeared, please state why. Likewise, if you believe that Hot Motor Cool ESC is undergeared, please explain.

I'll try to explain it the way I know it.
Hot motor, cool ESC is undergeared. Reason for this is the motor is reaching it's top rpm and sitting there not really working just creating heat from the high RPM just like reving a real engine to the limiter. The ESC is cool because the motor isn't pulling a lot of current.
Cool motor, Hot ESC is overgeared. Reason is the motor is working extremely hard to get up to speed and while doing so is pulling a lot of current through the ESC causing it to heat up, but because the motor isn't reaching it's max RPM for long ig at all then it's not going to get as hot as normal.
