if your runnnin a on / off switch then my bet its that

if no switch then its a reciever issue IMO

I had the same exact problem last weekend, at it sounds like you actually troubleshot it yourself

my servo was pulling to much juice, it would cut out just like you described. I put a spektrum cap on the receiver and i was good.

you said you put a cap on the receiver and it worked fine for 2 heats
you may need to run an external BEC like the castle one.

I ran this set up in my rt5 And worked great,this was my 3rd time out. With my sc10.I'm going to jump in tonight and swap out the servo first,but I'm sure it won't due it In front of the house.

My truck was doing what you are descibing but i hadn't recently replaced any parts. My truck did it most on one particular battery, Relaces a det of deans on that bat and ESC and cleared up all my issues. This may not help your issue but I found by braiding the motor wires i was able to get better range out of my set up.
