Ive been a Tekin customer had my issues but were always resolved FAST> Thanks Randy, rarely see any Novac representatives commenting on issues it would be beneficial. The Tekin thread always has representatives on the front lines helping and sorting out all issues. I suggest you dump all Novak products if your not happy give Tekin a opportunity they manufacture one of the best speedos and motor to date SUPER smooth and HIGH perforamce
Actually the Novak reps frequent the official novak threads.. Not the trash novak threads...

Castle doesn't send you refurbished. Any real car company does replace part with refurbished. When under warranty it should be replaced with new. I'm glad I don't have to deal with people like you.

Totally agree. If you need a new part like a tranny, you want them to install a refurbished one? Dude get a clue. Heres enough folks complaining about novak to suggest that it has gone downhill.

is there really any other type of noval thread recently?

notice how most of the posters are tech rookies or adepts.

seems most pissed off are new ones to the hobby or oldies gettin' back in. burn these customers and the death kneel has already sounded for Novak.

here are more of the same

Anyway, my Havoc setup would cut off I tried all sort of gearing but it just stopped working for no apparent reason. The motor and speed control was cool but then it would stop again. I am taking it in for repair soon but I just want you guys to know of my experience with this setup.

I may or may not send it back in for repair. The way I feel now, I just might throw it in the trash, where it belongs, and get a different speed control. Chalk it up to a lesson learned about cheap ESC's. Worthless piece of crap!

Didn't get more than half a lap before it just stopped. Came back on and I got around the backside of the course, and it cut out again.

I used all sorts of batteries (NiMs, Lipo's) and it still cut out. I took all the electronics out of the car today (Tamiya DB01 4wd buggy) to inspect it.

It's at the point where I can literaly tap the heat sink and it'll turn off and turn on again. Seems to do it with any slight impact. Imagine in an off road car what that'd be like. Every fricking jump it cuts off!

I've been very pleased with Novak products in the past, but this Havok system is causing more "Havoc" than fun!

Novak, what do I need to do to send it in for repair?

I have a junk GTB2 in the garage that I'm just going to throw away and chalk up as a loss.

It's past warranty and I'm not interested in a replacement from this manufacturer. It just started shorting one day when plugging a battery into it. Sparking bad. Like scary bad.

Though I agree that every person I have spoken to from Novak CS in the past has been a dream, at some point, that is just not enough. Sure this stuff happens to other manufacturers, but I can say for a an absolute fact I see about twice as many threads and complaints about burned up esc's and soforth regarding novak than any other manufacturer. I doubt they are selling twice as much product.

I started in 1/10th rc back in 1984 or 85 left it in the 90's got back to it in 2001 with some nitro. I switched 2 race seasons ago to brushless and run all novak with only 1 issue and that was a cap. I fixed that and it has all been great since. About every other weekend I see other stuff go poof and one race night our track was so muddy your SC would come off the track weighing 2 times as much as it started. I had so much mud inside my Nexx10 all you could see is a sensor wire and part of the esc fan and it worked then and still works now. I know a couple 1/8 scale escs got smoked on the track in 1 heat.
With Novak check the cap and dont over tighten the timing screws
