Default XXX-T ezrun/ tacon motor

hey guys i am thinking of getting a cheap esc and motor for my xxx-t as my castle is closing in on 6 yrs old. so i was thinking of trying a 35a hobbywing esc pared with a 4300kv tacon motor. will this work and is it fast?

Yes I have one on my t4:

Heres a video, I was geared low during this video, I went up a couple of teeth and I can wheelie on demand now:

I used to run the 35a and then later the 60a in my B4 and xxx-t. They both worked well. Though I liked the 60a a little more, less over heating.

Isn't the 4300kv Tacon motor the finned 540 motor? That really means it is a 380 canned motor with fins.(Not good to torque) I would recommend the Tacon 3650 4420kv motor. And yes it will be plenty fast for your setup. If you want to go faster, you could always get the 5900kv motor.

That is the key. Don't get the finned motors. They're 380 size motors with heat sinks to make them appear to be 540 size (and in turn they don't have the power). Get the solid cans (they look identical to your Castle just a little lighter of a color green).

I run the 60a esc with a 3200kv tacon, its been a good setup in 2wd sct.I have been running it about a year and a half.

ok well i ended up buying the 3000kv 540xl motor w/ a eZrun 35a esc and the reviews on the site seem pretty good. this should have plenty of torgue for my xxxt or sct

I have been looking for a Tacon motor as well. Looks like Hobbypartz has sold out of all that have been recommended. Anyone know another source for the motors?
