nitro v electric
Just posing the question, which is the cheaper of the two nitro 1/8 or electric buggies.
I already run a Cy Sacker( what its called in oz, not sure else where) 1/8 buggie, but was wondering about ep, price , speed, durability ect.
I run nitrp tourers and electric tourers as well and found the ep cars to be more expensive, eg chargers batts ect.
Also what is more fun?

The Sacker is the Hot Bodies Lightning in the U.S.
Nitro is generally more expensive to start off with, but electric requires more money to remain competitive.

1/8th scale buggies are among the most durable R/C cars out there. 4wd electric will be the fastest class on all but the roughest off-road tracks, with 1/8th scale off-road a close second.

quickest depends on equipment onboard, and the driver. i had my nitro stadium truck at the track today and got my ass handed to me by a guy with an electric losi BK buggy. talk about emberassing! that shut my AE preaching pie hole pretty fast.
he was also running a 10 turn mod motor tho, but thats not an excuse.
as far as durability, both require preventative maintinance. with the proper wrenching before and after you run, they will both hold up about the same. a wise old racer once said, if youre worried about breaking parts, dont hit anything. good advice, if not ambiguous. (vocab points for beetle!)
most of the time the breakables in a mix up (arms, bulkheads, ball cups) are pretty much the same in nitro and electric, with minor differences.

Modified electric will walk all over a nitro gas truck..

Yeah, thanks guys, I'm just thinking about getting into ep buggies soon, for more racing practice, probably modified, a good motor would be?
I run gp 3300's and a tc 2 speedie.

Funny you should ask what kind of motor.
lemme see, I myself am using a Kawada VX-R 23Turn. But the new VT-R is torquey, u might want to run those. If you're thinking of speed a good choice is the Tmaxx Luna LT or ST, your choice. I'm sure you have plenty of motors to choose from from your motor box.

well, electric can be made to be as fast as nitro, but i think nitro is probably more fun for the noise it makes. just seems more realistic to a real car.. haha

Yeah Mashi, I probably agree with you. Nitro is smelly, noisy, and offensive to some. Just like ROCK. Long live rocknroll
