Default CK hobbies 540 4 pole motor

Has anyone tried the CKhobbies.com 540 4 pole 4000kv motor?
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...3581%23msg3581
I have one coming so I'll leave feedback after I run it. It "should" be a great 4wd SCT motor, we'll see after I put it through it's paces in my SC10 4x4. The rotor is an 18mm 4 pole, should be lots of torque

As noted in the other thread that rotor shown is NOT from that motor referenced.. not only is the shaft different there is a bump out on it.

More info on the motor is welcome though..

Yeah, I noticed that shaft right after I posted the pic. I'll pull the rotor out when I get it and measure it to see if it is indeed 18mm.

The above picture is from a 3668, 5mm shaft with a 18x39 rotor that I am currently working with.

The specs as posted for the motor is correct but I had shown the wrong rotor.

36x50
4000kv
4-pole rotor
12 slot stator
Y wound
3.17mm shaft
1300 max watts

Here is the correct one pulled from my Sparrowhawk XT

Sorry for any confusion.

I have this motor but have not tried it yet. I can tell you that the magnets are as strong as the castle 1410. Very strong. Very notchy. Hopefully I'll get a chance to run this beast in the next week or so. I'll start out with 16/54 gearing in my slash 4x4 and go from there.

Yes it is.

The outside appearance is not spectacular by any means (will change) but beauty is only skin deep

Matt,
I tested this motor today. Before my heats at Mike's. I tried in my jammin' with mmp esc and 14/46 gearing, 5000mah 2s 40c GenAce Lipo. Have to say, i was completely shocked by how much torque and speed this thing had. With that gearing and set up, I was a little too much for the track. I backed throttle to 95% and was able to get around the track and clear big double with ease with just a tap on the throttle. Front line and straight away speed was awesome, On/off throttle in and out of corners was amazing. Pulled off the track after 8 min run and motor temped at 140.
I am pretty confident you will not be disappointed with this motor. Especially the way you drive you will be that much tougher to beat
I also tested it in my AE SC10 4X4 ( If you remember, I am the purple and green one that ran with you last saturday). Ran it with the 48P 93t spur with 17t pinion. Again, very smooth, off /on punch power. I can wait to get a couple more heats in with it. I will try 16t/ 18t configurations during the week and also 32P/63t spur with 12, 14t pinions.
Again, great motor.

Guys give this motor a try, I am sure you will love it.

Sweet, sounds like a good substitute to the castle 1410 you can only get bundled with a crap esc. I'll have mine ready for this next weekend, now I REALLY can't wait

Wow ! I ordered mine on Saturday (morning) and the wife just let me know it arrived. Too bad I'm working out of town. Good chance it will find its way into a losi scte or a hyper this Friday. Looking for something comparable to my 3800, which is plenty fast and runs cool.

Got my motor installed today and holy smokes this has some get up and go I had to tighten my slipper and belt tension on my SC10 4x4. I've only run it up and down my street but seemed plenty smooth on the bottom end but you pull the trigger back all the way and it get's up and MOVES Can't wait to run it this weekend
