ROAR approved Hobbyking lipos
Just found out HK have ROAR approval on their 4500 4S hardcases.

Hopefully they'll bring out a 5000 4S Hardcase soon

the fact that they are a different ###/model is promising...
when was the last time the average HK battery user when to a ROAR event?

Yes, always cross-reference ROAR's approved list and don't take a companies' word for it. Especially if the word officially is mis-spelled, "officialy" on the companies' engrish website.
The ROAR list is here: http://www.roarracing.org/?page_id=259

haha didn't notice the Chinglish spelling.
To be honest it doesn't really bother me as i have never and probably will never race a ROAR event (i race for fun, not for politics) but i thought it was worth a link. HK have been known to copy a few designs here and there but i doubt they would go so far as to fake ROAR approval. Time will tell i suppose.
For the HK haters, convince yourself how ever you like. HK are still the best value lipos on the market.
I've owned over 20 HK packs and only ever had 1 issue (puffed cell after about 10 cycles). I estimate i've saved well over $1000 from using HK lipos (not to mention chargers, connectors etc.) so for the 1 pack i lost i'm still way ahead of anyone shelling out twice or even 3 times the price for the same cells in different wrapping.
