We bash around with two 2wd Slashes using the AKA 2wd sets and have had no issues. Look for a thread about the AKA set. The most common problem is the inside nut coming loose. Just use a little locktite and you'll be fine. Although, there's a company that sells solid cover 17mm wheel nuts that will retain the inside nut should it come loose.
The wider a cars track gets, the less twitchy going straight and less responsive in turning. The shorter the cars track gets the opposite.
