What seems to be the kit of choice? I am unsure of carbon fiber matched with my crashing abilities, but I really like the fact that the front and rear sections are replaceable and the individual components are less expensive. $40 for a CF center section vs $75 for the Al pan. I keep reading that the RCE kit has a tighter turning radius as well. However, there is something to be said about the durability of a thick aluminum chassis plate.

Hello
Can somebody advice for me. I have problem on big speed. The front of car is losing tracktion, or after big speed when trying to break the car is trying to rotate.
Maybe I have to transfer the weight to the front of Slash?

It would be very difficult to break that carbon plate. I took my trce on a large 1/8 scale track for kicks and grins and the owner was surprised I did not break my chassis. I was casing enormous jumps for a whole pack. I broke a body mount and some other traxxas pieces but none of the trce parts.

Also, once I hit a cement block at full speed at the end of a straight. It had fallen into the track from the infield and I never saw it. I broke the front bulkhead. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one to do so.

I wouldn't worry about the durability of either kit. You will love the lcg slash 4x4!

Its funny. I Just found this thread and started to read through it. The first few pages were full of haters but as I got half way through and to the end I didnt see any hater posts lol. Must be proven now the LCG is effective. I have a slash 4x4 up for sale right now and I was going to get a FT SC10 4x4 because I love my 2wd sc10 so much but now I might just get a chassis for my slash.

That's definitely the expensive way of doing it but it does prove a point. You only convert a slash 4x4 to lcg b/c 1. you have a slash and 2. you're committed to it.

You do not come out ahead. Buying truck xyz (scte to be specific) is just as viable an option.

I'm probably the only one that bought a slash 4x4 specifically to make it an lcg. I do not suggest going this route even though I do love how it handles.

You do come out ahead....I did the very same thing, I bought a new platinum roller ($150 shipped..eBay) SSC LCG chassis ($190 shipped)..so I have a competitive SC for $340 and it doesn't really need anything, the stock hard body shocks work great (IMHO they are better than the prolines)..with the SSC chassis the stock drivetrain is so efficient that I was using a MMP and a 3800kv 4 pole motor and it was wicked fast..RX8 is overkill..I had one and a pro4 4600kv and I had it turned down to 60%..and it wasn't really any faster on the track..I have a SCTE and a FT SC10 and I know for a fact that the LCG Slashes can be as competitive as the Losi & AE..plus if you don't win..hey I'm drivin a slash..

For $45 I'm guessing its for a 2wd? If not I'd love to have the kit. I was looking at both today and was trying to figure out when I could get either one.

I'm not really sure how you are coming up with those numbers. You can get an entire good used Slash platinum for $300 and it would include a body and a VXL setup. Sell the VXL if you want for $100. A new MMP and castle motor are $200. Why do you need new bumpers? Use the old stuff. In fact most of it doesn't make sense. If you went with brand xyz, you would buy the FT kit, no? Even the FT kit wouldn't come with machined aluminum diff cups and all that crap...

Agreed. Most people myself included will replace or upgrade parts when they break. I dont see the need in dropping all that money on parts. Little parts like that dont even make that big of a difference.

The cheaper way would be...

Platinum roller off EBay.
SSC or TRCE LCG kit.
Hobbywing SC8 and Castle 1410( or Tenshock SC401)/ Viper copperhead system/MMP SCT Race Pro
Savox 1258TG
A radio if you need one.
Losi Ten-T shocks or AE SC10 4x4 shocks or D8 shocks.
Battery.

Also how would it affect the handling going this way?
I will be trying them at the Jconcepts Race in Dallas this weekend......the rims dont come in untill friday :-(

Been running the arms and they work really well...especially with larger volume shocks.

did you post a pic of your truck? I would like to see how you have it setup.
I am going to run a different steering servo position this week and see how it fares.....
