Hey,

Just an update...I got the RPM Radio box and it's just what I was looking for. It was tight when I mounted the switch in with the failsafe and receiver. I do have a really small failsafe or it wouldn't have fit.

What switch did you mount in with the failsafe? I personally don't run a switch. I just rewire my rx battery with heavy gauge wire, and use deans plugs. I also run heavy wire back to the reciever. I use a bit stiffer wire, that way it holds its shape, and I don't have to worry about it getting in the spur gear. And deans plugs will never come apart in a race, where a switch may get turned off in a crash.

if a switch gets turned off in a crash..you're gonna have bigger problems than your truck losing power!

Default setup

anybody have a good setup for a small tight blue groove track?
approxiamately 80' back straight . i have already done the front end extension with losi Axles and b4 axles in the rear.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Oh yeah the surface is very hardpacked and grooved, one guy went through two sets of holeshots between practice and the race! any suggestions on tire selection? Thanks Dan

If Holeshots work, I'd try Losi Kingpins..all the traction, without the wear!

That's good to know. I was at a track awhile back where everybody was using some losi tire. I thought it was a taper pin they said, but not sure. I tried a set out and didn't like em. My holeshots hooked up alot better for me. I'm going to have to try some king pins though.

MIP heavy flywheel. I used the lightweight one all year. People say the heavy one maintains a better idle. I'm going to try it, the light one I used I ran a higher idle than I'd have liked. Pure racer, no bashing for mine either.

Any hints to anything new lately from the AE boys? Will be running in the RCPro series and am looking for a new truck. If not I take it the widening of the GT and then race it huh? Drove one a few weeks ago and it seems to have plenty of steering. What do you guys feel is the natural handling characteristics of the GT?

Thanks

Jeff

I drive a wide Gt, it has no problems keeping up...

Very neutral steer & handling....

For a old battle axe, its hard to beat the thing...

Widen it, put a good servo in for steering and it'll handle with the best of em. Maybe limit the suspension a bit. I think the thing jumps good, turns better than I do, and is the easiest of any truck to work on.

Yea like Jeff said this is by far the easiest truck to work on, and they are good and tough.

Wild Cherry I have been using your front end Mods suggestion, and love them. I saw a guy with Kyosio Front castor bloscks on his GT and it had the same effect, he also had Rear Kyosio, hubs to make the longer camber link

I like the looks and the track record of the GT. The fear of getting one and then the new truck comes out makes me a little nervous...lol

Also I have read this thread and looked at all the links...the widening kits say sold out....can a person get the parts indivdual and do the same thing?

Also read one setup where Tebo ran the NTC3 Clutch....whats the reason to use that?

Jeff
