"Mr Reedy, Rest In Peace"

As you're racing on
That perfect track in the sky,
We wish you a sad,
And heart-felt good bye...

We'll never forget
The things you've done...
All the people you helped,
And all the hearts you won...

We'll always remember
How you liked to go fast,
Rest in peace Mr. Reedy
Your memories will always last...

I received a call from liverc.com informing me of the passing of Mike Reedy. I grew up around So. Calif. in the early 80's racing. Mike was always a pleasure to be around and one of the great innovators in the RC car racing scene. I attended many races all across the world with Mike, he definitely is one of the major contributors to the RC world and would not be what it is today without him. He was one of the few people I made a point to asked about how he was doing to Mark Pavidas this past weekend at the Amarillo Race in Tx. I had the pleasure to win the first Reedy Race of Champions in 1987. The Reedy Cup is by far my most cherished trophy ever and still proudly displayed today in my shop. Just about all of my other trophy's have been tossed over the years except for the Reedy Cup. Mike it was a pleasure to have been part of your life, you will truly be missed by many. Thanks for the great memories Mike.

I've known Mike for over 30 years.....most know him as a motor icon in RC racing. I can tell you he was once quite a racer too. In the early 80s when the only electric RC cars were 1/12th scale, when you showed up at a race in So Cal he was the guy to beat. I was always a competitor of Mike's since I used Neal McCurdy's motors (Revtech), but I always thought of him as a good friend. Whenever we were racing around the country, all the So Cal racers would pull for each other, no matter who our sponsors were. Of course, Mike was always there to help. Yes, the RC world will never be the same....we all have a responsibility to maintain our sport for those that have worked so hard to shape it, like Mike Reedy.

This is how I will remeber him. A true r/c legend. Mr Reedy and Mr Picco both lost in just a couple days. How tragic.

Default RIP Mike Reedy

I never had the good fortune of meeting him personally, but benefitted im'mensely from using his motors. From the mid to late '80s I and my off road racing buddies used the Mister (Mr.) series motors and then the 'M' series of motors when they came out. We had an unfair advantage using these motors against the competition and loved every minute of it. Their power and smoothness of delivery cannot be described.

Extraordinary people come along once in a life time and Mike was one of them.

Fondly remembered, sadly missed

I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Reedy. He certainly was a motor genius and if it were not for guys like him this hobby would not be the same!
