Question about lipo charging/charger!
Im about to get a new charger and thinking about getting the hyperion 0720i NET3 charger from amain for $179 and am mostly going to use the built in power supply and just charge all my batteries at home before going to the track.. so question is.. it says its rated at 90w from a wall outlet so id be able to charge a 4s pack at 1c rating right? And would take about 1.5-2 hours for each pack? Im just going to do local club racing at my local track with an E-buggy. Probably every week.. so would this be a good choice for me and what im going to use it for? Or would i need more of a charger/power supply?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I believe that when you charge at 1c it should take right around 1 hour, depending on if you are balance or fast charging.
Need more info (mAh of your batteries) to know if 90 watt will be enough to reach a 1c charge rate.

Ill most likely be using 45c 5400 4s pack and 50c 5600 4s pack. And i will be balance charging about 100% of the time.

i'm also a lipo noob.
The guy at my local hobbytown had me get a 7.4v 30C 5000mah venom batt and a patriot htx-charger.... it took like 35 min to charge at what i'm pretty sure were the right settings, that sound right?

When you charge your Lipo batteries, you also need to make sure the battery is connected to the balancing port that came with your charger. When a Lipo battery has 2 or more cells it needs to be balanced to make sure that each cell's voltage is identicle. That way you have optimal performance and wont risk damaging the battery leading to a possible catastrophic failure.

Read this write-up about lipo's http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-lipo-batteries.html Credit to finding this site goes to Duster_360.

Charlesandstuff it will work. A fully charged 4s is 16.8v. Divide 90w by 16.8v and you get 5.35a so you will get near a full 1c charge all the way up to fully charged.
Im using the smaller 606i ac/dc. Its only 50w so I only get 3.2amps or so. It takes a while but it gets the job done.

Do yourself a favor and get the most powerful charger and power supply you can afford. Given current technology, it makes zero sense to wait around for 1 hour to charge a pack anymore.
Get at least a charger that is at least capable of charging a 6s pack at 10amps. Get a power supply that can handle minimum of a 25amp charge. Only buy batteries that can be charged a minimum of 2c (really should be able to buy 5c packs all day long now).
Once you charge a pack up in 20-30 minutes (or less if you get even more powerful chargers) you will never go back to waiting around for an hour.
You should be able to buy both a charger and power supply for about $200 buck or so.
Get the Cellpro 10s and the corresponding power supply.

You won't regret it.
